Let's hope it's due both (NI and Serato) are working on Apple Silicon transition at full speed because if not some other competitor (like Djay) will get the market and make them irrelevant.
NI forum was (and still is but less) a ghost town but Serato forums is going the same due radio silence. They lost the plot long ago (over Traktor dj 1 app era) when Apple wrecked synchronisation between platforms and NI lost faith on Apple as partner. Now is time to do the same for desktops and finally they will merge softly into convertible computers (but properly done not like lenovo yoga or surfaces) but that's a huge effort to so-dependant brands like NI or Serato. The point is x86 vendors are trying to follow Apple on this disruption but they couldn't. It will depend on market true reaction to ASilicon. Maybe the option of standalone ( point 4) could save the day.

M+ mk2 (2023) will be based on Apple Silicon somehow (it will depend on Apple opening to third party closed proposals like Apple Car but on steroids) or will be ditched in favour or just iPad pro of that year.New format compressed but loseless will be possible (even if someday Kontakt is released to iPad). Example will be lightweight Kontakt libraries working on 8gb ram machines due codec/decode on chip implementation of ASilicon. Also core functionality will be improved (bugs will arise but let's hope they get fixed) due other ASilicon technologies. Expect revamped GUI in all since Apple will force brands to use technologies like MetalUI. Also will keep the options for all the NI line (Reaktor, Kontakt, Maschine desktop). Get info about the rumoured Apple M2 and see if helps somehow with x86 migration (AVX thought Rosetta or what) since that will give a fresh-air balloon to the deadlines.Figure it out that Apple Silicon is that and more powerful even than latest Pioneer Cdj3000 (which maybe implement realtime stems but maybe it can't) and understand how " off the ground" was keep themselves with x86 for too much time. Study the possibility of T+ or almost standalone tablet-like centerpiece.
New Denon Lc6000 will point you if Traktor Pro 3 is still relevant or just strategical to keep users in the ecosystem. Also talk with third party brands for give native support (but more oriented to the "Traktor Merged".

Update Traktor Pro (it's happening) until get some actual demands (streaming services, realtime stems, actualised fx.) and bug fixing (S4mk3 problems with M1.).The plan to substitute (or merge) will be still on table but what have changed are priorities (assumption, not internal info or so). Also Traktor Pro 3 will receive some fx improvements (and maybe realtime stems someday) due Izotope. Yesterday I was thinking on possible strategies and my gut says Traktor Dj2 probably is going to be co-developed with Izotope. could this makes sense, should we think about ?Ĭlick to expand.Well not sure about that halt on development. It would be very robust, because all Dark controller (also Dark Flame) are build in 3mm thick CNC milled aluminium (same the Xpander panels), feeling rock solid and with mounted Xpander even more heavy (above half kilo, and rubber feet) so they would not slip any mm on usage and could fit best aside a metal TT or club mixer. but in height similar the TT surface height !). Then DFL could be placed on desk close to any TT or club mixer (still same small size. But for the DVS user we just think about this idea: Why not build a height extender same this Xpander for the small Dark Flame too. We thought about a mounting on TT (similar Dicer), but due some reasons we didn’t at the end: it would too much limit the use cases (DVS only), would request a new printed circuit board, wouldn't be competitive in price etc., and sizes of TT are different too.

I also like the portable NI Z1 with Dark Controller left and right. Everybody who ever played on an older SL1200 or owning a high end club mixer knows the difference to mass market (plastic) controller (but I still think the ‘toys’ are ok, they are cheaper in production, and lower retail price, so its fair and good to have such alternatives). Īnd yes the metal and components makes a difference to ‘toys’ for us too. Click to expand.Hi Vinyl, thanks a lot for the nice compliment, very happy to hear.
